Send Your ParametersHow do I select a resettable PPTC fuse?
Provide normal operating current, maximum voltage, ambient temperature, desired trip time, package size and application environment. Derating and hold-current performance should be checked under the actual thermal conditions.
What is the difference between a PPTC and a one-time fuse?
A PPTC increases resistance during an overcurrent event and can reset after power is removed and the device cools. A one-time fuse opens permanently and must be replaced after operation.
What information is needed to select a varistor?
Share continuous operating voltage, expected surge waveform and current, target clamping voltage, energy level, repetition rate, package constraints and required approvals.
Which parameters are needed for a thermistor?
For sensing, provide nominal resistance, B value, tolerance and temperature range. For inrush limiting, include steady-state current, maximum input voltage, capacitance, ambient temperature and repetition conditions.
